I finally got around to watching
The 1992 movie
This was fascinating to me, being in the media business and spending many days working in support of the news media machine.
What the government does, what the people think and what the newspapers say –
I have to disagree with an awful lot of Chomsky’s points – And, agree with a disturbing amount.
I was wondering what his take would be on occupy Wall St.
The internet is an amazing thing –
Now, how is such democratic, no…. socialist sharing of news and viewpoints possible ? in the face of the huge conspiracies he spins?
Even more amazing is you can watch the entire film on line..
I am more inclined to attribute most of the gap to the duality of man, though my idea of that is somewhat more harsh than Carl’s view formed from his childhood. I think it is easer to view such postulations, including mine through the lens of an existential nihilist. If it were not for the tragedy and sadness, I would view it as all entertainment. But that which causes us to form passion and resolve defeat nihilism as it did for Nietzsche himself.
One thing about Noam, his is passionate. And there is nothing wrong with that.
